Moving your website and DNS is the riskiest single thing we do for you. We do it
carefully — staging review, your affirmative written approval (silence is never
approval for a DNS change), your email records carried over unchanged, a
rollback path — but some risks are inherent to the operation and shared by every
migration anyone performs:
Search rankings can move. Rankings and traffic can dip after a migration
even when everything is done right, and recovery time varies. We map and
redirect your existing pages to minimize this.
Email is the thing that breaks worst. We copy your DNS zone before
touching anything and carry MX/SPF/DKIM/DMARC across unchanged. If a mail
problem appears, tell us immediately — early reports are fixed in minutes;
late ones can mean days of deliverability recovery.
Third-party services wired to your old site (chat widgets, booking tools,
integrations we weren't told about) can stop working if we didn't know they
existed. The pre-cutover review lists every function we found; check that
list against what you know you use — that's what it's for.
Old links and bookmarks deep into your former site may not all have
equivalents; we redirect what the crawl finds.
Legacy systems you keep running (an old booking portal, a member area)
stay your responsibility; we route to them but don't maintain them.
What you're agreeing to: you've read the pre-cutover review package, had the
chance to flag anything it missed, and accept the residual risks above where we
performed the migration in a professional, industry-standard manner. This
acknowledgment doesn't excuse our negligence, and doesn't limit the rollback and
remedy commitments in the Website & Hosting Schedule.
